Courthouses – Other Unique Structures
Decatur County Courthouse
This is the well known constuction/renovation project at the Decatur County Courthouse which was completed in 1997. It is uniquely recognized because of the tree that grows from the top steeple and can be seen from quite a distance. This was one of many Renovations and Remodeling Projects on county seats and municipal courthouses that Bruns-Gutzwiller has worked on around Southeastern Indiana. Besides managing the outside appearance and maintaining some historic flavor, much of the interior work will usually require great detail in executing the architectural millwork and masonry requirements.
Schmitdt Associates from Indianapolis were the selected design/architects for the project. Contract Valued at: $5,200,000 Location – Greensburg, IN. Square footage for renovation estimated at 17,000.
